SURFINDIAN!
Chris and his crew at Surfindian have expanded and are opening the old Star Surfing Co. space as a new, high end board shop. I have the pleasure and honor of being in the lineup there. Other shapers/labels you may have heard of include, Skip Frye, Donald Takayama, Pauk Strauch Jr., Tyler, Hydrodynamica (Richard Kenvin/Carl Ekstrom), and Michael Miller. That is one intimidating lineup, but I am stoked out of my mind to be included. Look for a Surfindian/mast surfboards collaboration in the future.

hillbilly hull
Another new one, 6’10”, hand shaped by me and carefully crafted by the boys at Channin’s.
two more on the way
6’8″ hillbilly hull, round pin: a little higher volume and a tad more rocker than usual. Will be tinted mango.
5’7″ HPH formula 1: high performance hydrodynamic planing hull. Will have the same cool fins as Takashi’s and be tinted gray.
Both boards will get the usual flawless treatment at Channin and be available sometime in March.
another stint “on the hill”
Can’t wait to be shaping again at Channin. Feels like forever. Got a few ideas rattling around. I’m gonna hug my bus as soon as I get there.
Mahalo Hawaiian Surf Club of San Onofre
I would like to extend my gratitude to my friend Kai for his invitation to join the Hawaiian Surf Club of San Onofre for their Christmas party. The event was held at the Surfing Heritage Foundation and was a nice family style get together. Great company, good food and music and a warm holiday vibe.
I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Paul Strauch Jr. there. Surrounded by all of the historic boards there and then talking to Paul about them, I could not help feeling the flow of surf history, past to present. Quite a treat.
